Measurable Assessment in Recreation
for Resident-Centered Care
(MARRCC)

MARRCC 2

The MARRCC 2 offers several advancements, including:

  1. Additional fields have been added to ensure compliance with new regulatory standards for recreation departments in LTC (e.g., Voter status and preference, Community Integration and Access Needs, and Veteran status).
  2. The assessment screens can display at a higher resolution (1024 X 768), allowing the user to see the entire assessment page without having to scroll down.
  3. Assessments can now be saved within the data base for later referencing or printing, if necessary.
  4. Recreation progress notes and/or addendum notes can now be saved and reviewed as a chronological group and printed together.
  5. Care plan goals selected from the care plan library can now be modified, individualized, and saved directly in the resident files.
  6. Required documentation timelines for each resident can now be easily tracked and monitored to help ensure timely and consistent documentation of progress notes and annual assessments.
  7. MARRCC 2 is written in a more robust language and can more easily be used in a networked environment.
  8. MARRCC 2 can convert all existing data from the original MARRCC software, which means current MARRCC users can upgrade to MARRCC 2 without having to re-enter resident information.
  9. The MARRCC 2’s minimum operation system is Windows ME, making it compatible with more recent operating systems.
  10. MARRCC 2 is written in Visual Basic, so an Access platform is no longer required to run the software.
Perhaps just as exciting is the price: We are able to offer the MARRCC 2 for only $375 per unit—that’s the SAME price as the original version! As before, this price includes the software, user’s guide, manual, and one license. It also includes the first year's $40 annual maintenance fee. The annual maintenance fee, due each year on the installation date anniversary, is charged for our support services. These services include providing email/telephone installation assistance and technical support, software upgrades, and consultation from Sienna Boothman for the recreation staff using the assessment.

Additional licenses, for locations where more than one user will operate the MARRCC, are still only $50 per license.

Description of the MARRCC
The MARRCC is a standardized and computerized assessment developed specifically for recreation professionals working in LTC settings. The MARRCC package consists of four sections:

  1. The Intake Assessment, which enables recreation professionals to measure a resident's functioning level in four domains as they relate to recreation.
  2. The Care Plan Section, which assists recreation professionals in consistently writing care plan goals that are measurable, related to the problem, and resident-centered.
  3. The Progress Note Section, which assists recreation professionals in evaluating the resident's progress towards the achievement of the care plan goals as well as the effectiveness of the individualized care plan developed for the resident.
  4. The Annual/Change of Condition/Re-admit Assessment, which enables recreation professionals to track and monitor changes in a resident's functioning levels and individual needs, and adjust the recreation program designed to meet those needs.
